Tata Steel, a leading steel manufacturer in India, announced the completion of its Phase II expansion project at Kalinganagar, Odisha, with an investment of Rs 27,000 crore. This expansion increased the Kalinganagar plant's capacity from the previous 3 million tons to 8 million tons, raising Tata Steel's total Indian capacity to 26.1 million tons.

T. V. Narendran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, said this expansion showed the company's commitment to Odisha, seeing Kalinganagar as a symbol of successful collaboration.

The expansion positions Tata Steel to meet growing demand for advanced high-strength steels across automotive, infrastructure, power, shipbuilding, and defense sectors. Odisha continues to be Tata Steel's largest investment destination.
