According to statistics, Taiwan's wire rod imports reached 468,000 tons in 2024, up by 33% compared to 2023, ending two consecutive years of decline and hitting a three-year high.

Among them, 173,600 tons were imported from Indonesia, accounting for 37% of total imports, making it the largest source of imports. South Korea and China ranked second and third with 95,700 tons and 51,000 tons, respectively.

Other major sources included Japan (46,200 tons), India (43,600 tons), Vietnam (27,500 tons), the UK (9,600 tons), Russia (7,500 tons), the UAE (6,700 tons), and Spain (3,200 tons).

In addition, Indonesia was also the largest source of low-carbon wire rod, reaching 117,900 tons. India ranked second, supplying 36,000 tons. Separately, South Korea was the largest supplier of alloy steel wire rod, with 72,800 tons.
