Taiwan’s main rebar manufactures, Feng Hsin Iron & Steel Co. Ltd . has announced to stop the production of big diameter rebar last week.

Due to the reconstruction of steel rolling line, the large-sized rebar will be suspended into production from October 1 to the end of the month. Besides, another rebar mill in mid Taiwan will also proceed the furnace maintenance for small diameter rebar in the first week of October.

The production cut from these two rebar mills will total more than 50,000 tons which causes the supply become slightly tight in October. It is expected that the domestic price is likely to go up at around NT$19,000/ton.
