In the recently two weeks, around more than 20,000 tons of carbon steel plates have been imported to the Taiwanese domestic market.

Among them, about 5,000 tons for construction usage, almost 4,000 tons of heavy thickness plates and at least 4,000~5,000 tons of steel plates have been sold.

It is said the actual transaction quantity in Taiwan domestic market may less than 5,000 tons and the thickness of those plates are about 12~28 mm.

In fact, price is one of the major issues to cause the shortage situation in some particular thickness plates. Since the available plate sources have been held on some specific distributor, Taiwan's end buyers can only get those particular thickness plates by paying higher price.
