A A A
Taiwan experienced a significant increase in pig iron imports during the first quarter of 2025, doubling the volume compared to the same period last year, reaching approximately 152,000 tons. In March alone, imports reached nearly 74,000 tons, the highest monthly figure in 15 months.

The surge was largely attributed to imports from Russia, which accounted for 94.2% of the total, totaling around 69,600 tons in March, and 81%, totaling around 123,100 tons in the first quarter.
