Taiwan's steel producer China Steel Corporation (CSC) indicated an oversupply in China's steel mill production, while the production capacity of new steel plants in Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia, continues to increase.

CSC estimated that the supply of hot-rolled products would reach over 70 million tons, suggesting that industries need to pay attention to this situation and begin developing strategies proactively.

Some market participants stated that global countries boycott Chinese steel products, but the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries can sell their products to Europe and other regions. Additionally, the interchange among the 10 ASEAN countries would lead to Taiwan being excluded and facing significant pressure regarding future sales.

As a result, Taiwanese steel mills must adjust their existing production and marketing strategies while actively developing high-quality steel products to enhance the added value of their offerings.
