Stegra & LKAB to test iron ore pellet deliveries at end-2026

Henrik Henriksson, CEO of Stegra, announced that Stegra and LKAB have agreed in principle to conduct joint test deliveries of iron ore pellets at the end of 2026, following railway track work. These tests will ensure smooth logistical operations between the two companies.

Henriksson said the company hoped it could be a long-term collaboration, strengthening Sweden's supply security and its leading position in the green industrial transition.

These iron ore pellets will be used in Stegra's plant for green hydrogen, green sponge iron, and green steel. Stegra's direct reduction process, powered by green hydrogen, will emit only steam, replacing the CO2 emissions in the traditional blast furnace-based steelmaking.
