South32, a mining and metals company headquartered in Australia, said that it paid US$200 million in cash to acquire an additional 16.6% shareholding and related rights in Mozal Aluminium from MCA Metals holding GmbH, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi.

Therefore, South32 currently holds a total of 63.7% shareholding in Mozal Aluminium, and its share of aluminum production was expected to reach 281,000 tons for the 2022 fiscal year and 370,000 for the 2023 fiscal year.
