According to statistics released by the Korea Iron & Steel Association (Kosa), the country’s H-beam output totaled 191,600 tons in February, slumping by 30% from a month ago and decreasing by 20% year on year.

It’s learned that the country’s largest steel long product manufacturer Hyundai Steel commissioned several maintenance projects at its rolling mills at its three works over 6-10 days in February.

Besides, Dongkuk Steel Mill also conducted maintenance at its Pohang works for around 7 days in February.

At the same time, the country’s imports of H-beam from China totaled 54,800 tons in February, falling by 22% from a month ago and decreasing by 39% year on year.
