According to statistics from the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), South Korea’s crude steel production totaled around 6.13 million tons in July this year, growing by 10.8% compared to the same month a year ago.

Among them, the production from blast furnaces was 4.13 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%; that from electric furnaces was nearly 2 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 27%.

In the first seven months of this year, South Korea’s crude steel production amounted to approximately 41.3 million tons, up by 8.7% year on year. Among them, the blast furnace steel increased by 7.4% year on year to roughly 27.8 million tons, and the electric furnace steel hiked by 11.4% year on year to around 13.5 million tons.
