SMS group, a German equipment supplier to the metallurgical industry, will supply Spanish seamless pipe producer Tubacex with a cold pilger mill, type KPW 290 L, for the production of seamless stainless steel pipes at a new plant that is under construction in the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) in the UAE.

The new cold rolling mill, with a value of US$100 million, will be used to produce OCTG-CRA threaded pipe, and it will meet the growing demand for cold pilgered tubes in the oil and gas industry.

The mill was scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2024.
