According to report, India’s Steel Authority of India (SAIL) said its production in fiscal year 2011/12 totaled 13.5 million tons, a 5% increase from 12.89 million tons in the previous fiscal year on higher capacity utilization.

It is also expected that that production will be also higher again in current fiscal year as the company will start two new blast furnaces before the end of March 2013. Next fiscal year will be 19 million tons.

The company plans to expand its capacity to 45 million by year 2020.
