Romanian pipe manufacturer, Artrom Steel Tubes announced that it would invest more than EUR 6 million in 2024 to optimize measures to reduce carbon emissions and fuel consumption.

The company has begun upgrading the block heating furnace used for pipe forming to reduce natural gas consumption. The process also supported the possibility of using hydrogen, which would contribute to climate neutrality. The entire optimization and renovation project will be completed later this year.

In addition, the company is also carrying out another carbon reduction plan, which aims to reduce the carbon emissions of production for the steel used to produce pipes at its plants while significantly reducing production costs related to the manufacturing process of the plants.
