Reportedly, Rio Tinto, Australian iron ore producer said that the company’s iron ore production would exceed 240 million tons this year in comparison of 239 million tons in 2010.

It’s known that the company’s Q1 iron ore production was affected by the Hurricane which hit the Pilbara region where owns rich iron ore mine assets.

Rio Tinto indicated that the company has solved the problem at Dampier problem and its annual operating capacity would reach 225 million tons this year.

Meanwhile, Rio Tinto has planned to lift its annual iron ore output capacity to 333 million ton by 2015.
