The UK service center of Outokumpu Stainless Distribution has been relocated. The plate service center has moved fro their old location in Blackburn to a new 60, 000 square feet facility in Sheffield. The move is part of a plan that will see the company invest about £ 2 million to improve their internal services and logistical matters. The upgrade also includes the upgrading of their existing production equipments such as plasma and laser cutting, water jet cutting to improve slit quality and allow large scale size plate to be handled. Complete operations at the new facility are expected to start in the first quarter of next year. (July 27)
