It was reported that there was a fire accident happened in a steel plate mill of Nucor Corporation in Longview, Texas, and it caused the damage of an electric arc furnace (EAF) there. Nucor expressed that the damaged EAF has been repairing, and it discussed the remedy with their customers after the fire.

Additionally, Nucor also stated that there was no significant harm or environmental influence in this fire. Consequently, Nucor would service their customers as usual. According to report, Nucor acquired the steel plate mill from Joy Global company with US$29 million in 2016, and the annual production capacity was 180,000 short tons.
