Nucor-Yamato Steel Co will keep their March transaction price for wide flange steel beams at the same level for the sixth consecutive month. The company has however increased their scrap surcharge by $25 per ton. The other main beam producers such as Steel Dynamics Inc will follow Nucor-Yamato's action. Nucor-Yamato has tried to maintain stability in beam pricing since 2004. According to some sources, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) now is working on a sunset review of dumping margins on imported beams. They suspect that domestic mills will hold any increase until the ITC makes its final decision. (Feb. 17)
