MOIL, India's leading manganese ore company, is set to expand into the iron ore mining sector. The company has identified a potential iron ore deposit near its existing manganese mine in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. Early studies suggest a high potential for iron ore in the area, with iron content reaching up to 64%, well above the national average of 55%. 

MOIL has begun the process of applying for government approvals and conducting environmental studies. This move is part of MOIL's strategy to diversify its operations and strengthen its raw material base to meet the growing demands of India's steel industry. If approved, the project could contribute significantly to local economic development and help India achieve greater self-sufficiency in steel production.
