Ipsco Inc is according to reports looking to set up a new steel plant in the Port of Shreveport-Bossier. According to the commission president Lynn Austin, the plant could bring some 200 new job opportunities. If the company decides to set up the plant there, it will be constructed on a 340 acre piece of land south of the port. The company is looking at three locations to set up their new US$250 million plant that will produce hot rolled steel coils and ERW pipes. No final decision on the location has been made yet. (Aug. 9)
