Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) announced a $40 million expansion plan for their galvanizing steel plant in Jeffersonville, Indiana. This expansion will enable SDI to produce pre-painted steel, acrylic coated steel, and galvalume coated steel. The company will have a continuous coil coating paint line for the GalvPro Plant. SDI plans to start production in the second quarter of next year with a 190,000 tons annual capacity. An additional zinc pot will be included in this expansion for producing galvalume coated steel up to 60 inches in width. SDI will become a unique producer to supply galvalume products above 52 inches width. The investment will final increase SDI's competitiveness in product diversification (Feb. 9)
