According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), India's crude steel production continued its strong upward trend, increasing by 5.6% year on year to reach 12.9 million tons in April. This performance made India the sole country among the top five steel producers to record positive growth in April.

In the first four months of this year, India's crude steel output grew by 6.9% year on year to 53.2 million tons, the fastest growth among the top ten global steel-producing nations.
