SMS group is modernizing Hyundai Steel's continuous galvanizing line #1 (CVGL#1) at their site in Dangjin, South Korea in a two-phase project to increase operational efficiency.

The first phase, completed in December 2024, installed new equipment to improve strip cleanliness, drying efficiency, and tension control, resulting in higher productivity and reliability.

Building on this success, the second phase, launched in February 2025, focuses on modernizing the skin pass mill for improvement in hydraulic and mechanical systems to perfect strip tension control.

The collaboration between the two companies, dating back to 2005, indicated the strong partnership and shared commitment to making Hyundai Steel more efficient.
