Due to heavy rain, Australian Consolidated Minerals Ltd (ConsMin) said its manganese output in the third quarter this year will drop by 11 percent.

In the first quarter, ConsMin’s production fell to 196,256 tons only from 220,351 tons in the same quarter last year.

They forecast that the total capacity could hit between 900,000 tons and 925,000 tons this year and the manganese ore market will become stronger next year due to big demand.

ConsMin, located in Perth, Western Australia, which accounted for 10 percent of market share on manganese supply in the world.

The main demands were from countries including China and India.
