Aceros AZA, a steel manufacturer in Chile, has launched the most modern scrap metal shredder in Chile at its Colina plant, representing a US$26 million investment, the largest made by the company since the Colina plant began operations in 1999.

The facility raises scrap processing capacity by 40%, creating 47 new jobs, and reinforcing AZA’s commitment to sustainable steel production.

With the ability to process 100 tons of scrap per hour, the shredder reduces CO2 emissions by more than 7,000 tons annually and cuts energy consumption by 2.5% at AZA's main plant.

AZA, a leader in Chile’s circular economy, continues to produce over 450,000 tons of green steel each year from recycled scrap.
