Brazil exports more ferrous scrap in Apr m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil's ferrous scrap exports totaled around 69,000 tons in April, rising by 11.3% compared to the previous month and soaring by 98% from the same month last year.

In the first four months of this year, Brazil's ferrous scrap exports grew by 11% year on year to around 247,000 tons, with India receiving 60%, Bangladesh 13%, and Belgium 4.1% of shipments.

In terms of imports, the volume in April was about 1,200 tons, a month-on-month hike of 23% and a year-on-year decrease of 40%. Total imports in the January-April period dropped by 40% year on year to roughly 3,800 tons. The supply from Germany accounted for 31%, followed by Spain’s 17%.
