According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on May 23, 2025, the US rig count fell by ten to 566 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas dropped by two to 98 units, and that for oil decreased by eight to 465 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 34 units or 5%.
During the same period, Canada’s rig count fell by seven to 114 units from the previous week, including 71 oil rigs (down by four week on week) and 43 gas rigs (down by three week on week). Canada’s rig number slid by six units compared to the same period a year ago.
