The production of Australian iron ore was expected to keep increasing steadily in recent years.

Rio Tinto's iron ore production was expected to rise by 10 million tons to around 350 million tons in 2018. Besides, BHP Billiton's iron ore production in Western Australia was forecasted to increase by 7 million tons to around 239-243 million tons in the fiscal year 2018.

As for the Roy Hill Mine, it was still in the phase of reaching its production goal. Its production was predicted to hike by 10 million tons to around 55 million tons in 2018,

The production of iron ore in Australia was expected to increase by 170 million tons in the coming years.
