According to the statistics, the exports of steel products to Taiwan from Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (Tisco) dropped for three consecutive months.

Tisco was a mill which exported the largest steel products in China. It has exported more than 100,000 tons in April and May, but its exports fell rapidly to less than 70,000 tons in June and July.

The reasons for the decline of Tisco’s exports to Taiwan were that the domestic price of Chinese stainless steel began to rise in June, and it drove Tisco’s export price to increase by US$100~200/ton and even higher.

Due to Tisco’s higher stainless steel export price, Taiwan’s buyers turned to other suppliers with lower price of stainless steel.
