Austria based Andritz Group has received an order to supply stainless steel strip processing equipment for Bahru Stainless SHN BHD, the joint venture between Spanish Acerinox and Japanese Nisshin Steel in Malaysia.

The process involves an annealing and pickling line for hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel strip, a skin pass mill, and a mixed acid regeneration plant.

Capacity will be around 540,000 tons per year; the thickness range will be from 0.7-10 mm and up to 1,600 mm wide. Production is scheduled to start by the end of 2010.
