Aperam, a stainless steel manufacturer headquartered in Luxembourg, has launched a new straightening and cutting line at its Aperam Alloys Imphy site in France to meet growing demand in the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) tanker market.
The facility increases production capacity for INVAR® M93, the essential alloy used in GTT’s NO96 technology for LNG containment systems.

The upgraded line, the same as the existing one with advanced technology, produces strakes up to 50 meters long, 536 mm wide, and under 1 mm thick, delivered in around 150 kg coils.

Besides, the company’s energy-efficient motors reduce overall energy consumption, supporting sustainability. The investment has created 35 new jobs and reinforces Aperam’s leadership in high-value segments.
