After being closed for three days, Port Hedland, the largest iron ore export port in Western Australia, resumed operations on February 15, 2025.

According to an announcement by the Pilbara Ports Authority on February 15, by 7:30 PM, Port Hedland had reopened. Prior to this, the port had been closed on February 12 at 6 PM due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Zelia.

The latest announcement stated that navigation aids, channels, and berths had been inspected and confirmed to be safe for operation. Authorities are in contact with various parties, including dock operators and shipping companies, to plan for the resumption of shipping operations.

In addition, the nearby ports of Dampier and Varanus Island have also reopened.
