According to reports, South Korea’s Trade Commission, which belongs to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), announced that it decided to start the anti-dumping (AD) investigation to stainless steel flat products imports from China, Indonesia, and Taiwan.

The investigation period would be five months for both the preliminary investigation and official investigation. The Trade Commission will decide the imposition of the AD duties after the investigation.

The South Korean steelmaker Posco filed the complaint to the Trade Commission for investigation since the stainless steel flat imports from those countries caused injury to the domestic industry.

Stainless steel flat products are worth about KWD 3.5 trillion in the South Korean market. The domestic products’ market share is 46.2%, while the share is 45.6% together from China, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
