Hybar, a rebar producer based in Arkansas, has officially produced its first batch of rebar at its new steel mini mill in Osceola, Arkansas, just 22 months after breaking ground. CEO Dave Stickler declared mission accomplished and highlighted the rapid construction of the technically advanced, environmentally sustainable facility, which includes a Mississippi River port and the largest behind-the-meter solar and battery storage facility in the US.

Hybar plans to commission its 105-ton DC electric arc furnace and continuous caster in the coming month, aiming to produce over 700,000 tons of rebar annually in sizes #3 to #18, available in both stick and spooled forms, with spools ranging from sizes #3 to #8 and weighing as much as eight tons.

The company owns North America's only steel mill capable of 100% renewable power usage when the sun shines. CFO Ari Levy credited the swift completion to Hybar's team and construction manager Lexicon Inc.
