Damstahl: European stainless steel demand to rise slightly in 2012
According to report of German service centre Damstahl, European crude stainless steel output in 2011 totaled 7.6 million tons, up by 2% year on year.

Meanwhile, the European crude stainless steel output rose by 15% from a quarter earlier in last Q4.

Damstahl said that the European stainless steel mills have seen positive outlook for the Q1 of 2012 and they have planned to raise the base prices and alloy surcharge to raise the profits.

It predicted that the stainless steel demand from Germany, Swiss, Denmark and Norway will be much higher than the average level of the European countries.
