US electrical steel imports in May was around 47,000 tons, which has increased by almost 100 percent compared to the same period of last year.

According to the Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA), the imports of electrical and stainless steel plate went up vigorously for the first five months of this year in comparison with the figure in the same period last year.

Stainless steel plate imports during January to May amounted to some 59,000 tons, increasing by 75 percent from a year ago.
