China’s Baosteel Stainless Steel said that the company has increased the type of ferritic stainless steel output by 50 percent of the company's total stainless steel output in 2007 in order to up its sales profits.

Their target output is expected to reach between 50 percent and 55 percent. In fact, Baosteel has produced 21 types of stainless steel products for total output of 3,000 tons in the first six months of this year. Among them, around 40 percent is ferritic stainless steel products.

The company has announced to cut production by at least 20 percent in July 2007 because of falling nickel and stainless steel prices.

The company will pay attention to see the nickel prices trend in third quarter in order to make adjustment by using low nickel pig iron into production.
