South Korean Hyundai Steel purchases US H1 scrap at US$459/ton C&F
Currently, South Korean Hyundai Steel purchased 2 batches of H1 scrap totaled 70,000 tons from the US with the prices of US$459/ton C&F, up slightly from the previous transaction prices of US$458.5/ton C&F. The delivery is during May and June.
Meanwhile, it’s predicted that Hyundai Steel will start to purchase the Japanese scrap soon. It’s said that the company may buy around 100,000 tons of scrap from Japan and the delivery will be in June.
At present, the major scrap exporters in the US offer the H1 scrap quoted at US$465/ton C&F to South Korea while Japanese scrap suppliers’ prices of H2 scrap are at US$445~US$450/ton C&F.
