Turkey’s Kocaer Çelik reveals new decarbonization goals

Kocaer Çelik, one of the leading steel profile manufacturers in Turkey, has announced its new carbon emission reduction goals to align with the EU’s Green Deal and promote sustainability.

The company sets short-, medium-, and long-term goals, integrates them into company policies, and shapes all its activities accordingly.

By 2030, Kocaer Çelik aims to decrease carbon emissions per unit of production by 35%, meet 100% of its electricity needs from renewable energy sources, increase alternative fuel usage by 20%, and cut energy consumption by 35%.

Besides, the company’s Scope 2 emissions are targeted to drop by 100% by 2030, with Scope 1 and 3 emissions fully reduced by 2050.

According to Kocaer Çelik, these goals are to contribute to the preservation of natural resources, thereby supporting a sustainable future.
