Brazil's scrap exports decrease in May y-o-y

The statistics from the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) showed that in May, Brazil's scrap exports were about 54,000 tons, decreasing by 5.5% from the same month a year ago. The export value amounted to US$20.8 million, increasing by 44.3% month on month but decreasing by 1.7% year on year.

In the first five months, the scrap exports reached about 276,000 tons, decreasing by 10.2% year on year. The export value reached US$105 million, a year-on-year decrease of 10.5%. Among them, the main export destination was India, accounting for 56% of Brazil's total scrap exports. The following were Bengal (14%) and Pakistan (4.9%).
