According to statistics released by the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (SpetsStal Association), Russia imported around 30,000 tons of stainless steel in December 2022, rising by 11.4% compared to the previous month.

Among them, the imports of cold-rolled stainless steel hiked by 35.2%, long steel products increased by 17.6%, seamless pipes rose by 17%, and wire surged by 112%, all on a month-on-month basis. Besides, the imports of hot-rolled stainless and welded pipes dropped by 28.2% and 27.2% year on year, respectively.
