2 Dec 2022 16:29 reported by Stanley Wang

A A A
Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corp Sdn Bhd (SOGDC) signed a land lease agreement with Esteel Enterprise Sabah Sdn Bhd (Esteel Sabah) for the green steel plant at Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP).

The total investment of the project would be US$43.9 billion. The plant will use natural gas as a reducing agent instead of coke and coal, which could reduce 70% of carbon emissions. Its operation will gradually transform into green hydrogen smelting with near-zero carbon emissions.
