US’ CTL plate imports rise in Jul m-o-m, y-o-y

According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 46,600 tons of cut-to-length plates (CTL plate) in July this year, growing by 19% compared to the previous month and also rising by 4.6% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from South Korea accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 28,300 tons, a month-on-month increase of 39.4% and a year-on-year hike of 27.5%. Canada ranked second with a volume of approximately 10,400 tons.

During the period, the import value was roughly US$68 million, up by 12.2% month on month and by 31.8% year on year.
