The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced it would provide €18 million in financing to help fund the project of Finland's Tapojarvi investment in an innovative slag processing and valorization plant in Umbria, Italy.

The project promotes a shift to a circular economy to reduce the environmental impact of stainless steel manufacturing. In addition, it will also enhance Tapojarvi's competitiveness and boost employment opportunities in Umbria.

It was estimated that the project will help create more than 500 jobs during the implementation phase.
