Taiwan’s CSC raises prices for Jun, at average increase of 8%

China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, announced its new prices for June today (May 13), with an average increase of 8%, which was the same as market expectation. This was the 12th consecutive month of the price increase.
According to the price announcement, the price of hot-rolled plates and hot-rolled general materials was hiked by NT$2,300/ton, that of hot-rolled rolling materials, cold-rolled general materials, hot-dip galvanized steel coil for construction, and pre-painted materials was up by NT$2,500/ton, and that of electrical steel (ES) coils was increased by NT$1,000-1,500/ton, depending on its grades.
