According to the performance report released by Century Aluminum, the firm’s shipment was around 195,700 tons in the first quarter, net sales were US$444 million, the net loss was US$140 million, the adjusted net loss was US$52.5 million, and the adjusted EBITDA was US$19.7 million, which was mainly due to the surged power prices caused by extremely cold weather in the US Midwest and South this February.

During the reporting period, Century Aluminum’s primary aluminum exports remained flat compared to the volume in the previous quarter, with an increase of 12% in its net sales, due to the increased aluminum prices.
