Indonesia's scrap imports hit 4-month high in Aug

According to statistics, Indonesia imported a total of around 123,000 tons of scrap in August, dropping by 54.4% compared to the same month a year ago while up by 55.4% from the previous month, hitting a four-month high.

Among them, the imports from Australia accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 32,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 28.6%; followed by Hong Kong with roughly 25,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%.

In the first eight months of this year, Indonesia's scrap imports amounted to approximately 800,000 tons, sliding by 49.4% year on year.
