India's scrap imports plummet in Aug y-o-y

According to the provisional statistics from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, the country imported around 322,000 tons of scrap in August, plummeting by 48% compared to the same month a year ago while hiking by 15.9% from last month.
Among them, the top three import sources were the US, the UAE, and the UK, with a separate import volume of approximately 56,000 tons, 33,000 tons, and 30,200 tons, all of which dropped by 50-62% year on year.
In the first eight months of this year, India's scrap imports amounted to 1.92 million tons, a year-on-year reduction of 43%, and the US, the UK, and the UAE were the largest suppliers.
