China & South Korea show interest in investing Indonesia's nickel resources

According to Indonesian authorities, they are focusing on the mining industry especially nickel ore, in order to set out a clear path for them to build their own battery industry in the future. This measure has been favored by foreign investors.

China's Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) and South Korea's LG Chem, the two biggest manufacturers of lithium battery used for electric vehicles (EV), had already shown their interest in this US$20 billion investment project.
