According to the data released from the Peruvian National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Peruvian rebar sales totaled around 45,000 tons in March, plummeting by nearly 60% compared to the same month a year ago.
The sharp reduction was mainly due to the national blockade issued on March 16th due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Besides, the figure was also lower by 61.4% compared to the sales of roughly 117,000 tons in the previous month.
In the first three months of this year, Peru totally sold around 271,000 tons of rebar, dropping by 17.4% compared to the same period in 2019.
