Taiwan’s stainless steel billet imports hit new low in Jan

According to the official report from the Taiwanese customs, the total imports of stainless steel billet this January were around 132 tons, which was the historical weakest performance, dropped by nearly 99% year on year, and 80% month on month.

Among them, the total value was around NT$23 million, the average price per ton faced dramatically increase with around 2.4 times from January in 2019, and also faced an 84% increase from the previous month.

The main supplied countries were Sweden (65 tons), the US (36 tons), and China (29 tons).
